Strengthening One Health Competencies through Academic Integration and Student Collaboration

One Health: A University-Wide Learning Initiative introduces a 45-hour One Health course comprising lectures and tutorial sessions as part of the Master of Public Health (MPH) curriculum and as a University Elective Program for undergraduate students from other disciplines.

This initiative enables students from diverse academic backgrounds to voluntarily enroll and collaborate in understanding the interconnectedness of human, animal and environmental health.

Mentoring and Skills Development Training Program in One Health (MSDT-One Health)

The School of Veterinary Medicine at University of California Davis has been awarded a 5 yr NIH IPERT grant to mentor 100 undergraduate students in STEM and 50 Early Career Scientists in One Health. The goal is to increase transdisciplinary research, particularly at the nexus of environmental toxicology and One Health. This is a national program in the US, and it is mostly virtual. This event is focused on training and awareness. Several training sessions and discussions will be planned in collaboration with a student citizenship programme focused on health and well-being. This programme focuses on transdiciplinary knowledge sharing and focuses on peer-mediated learning. The event will include webinar, training sessions and activation days for awareness.

3rd RCID ONE HEALTH CONTEST 2026

The One Health Contest, organized by the Research Center for Infectious Diseases (RCID) at International University – VNU-HCMC, is a science competition that aims to inspire and empower the next generation of biomedical and public health leaders.

The contest promotes awareness of the One Health concept—the interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health—among high school and university students. Through this initiative, RCID fosters scientific curiosity, creativity, and interdisciplinary collaboration to address current and emerging global health challenges.
